"Bobby's Drums" was written by Mandy about a family friend, neighbour and hired man on Mandy's family's farm. He was a drummer in his younger years and he and Mandy had talked about starting up a band when she started to play music. Unfortunately Bob passed away in a snowmobile accident before they could start a band. The deep drum beats throughout the song are symbolic of the vitality and charisma of Bob and how he will be remembered in our hearts. Bob truly did have a Pearl burgundy drum kit, which his wife and son gave to Mandy after she played them the song.

Lyrics:

There's a missing piece on the foot of this old oak stool

And here sat a boy named Bobby drummin' after school

His mama would cry out, try to drown out the noise

But she smiled and she swayed to the beat

It was the beat, of Bobby's drums

With the heart of a champion Bobby's beat won the love of his friends

They all felt the rhythm like a flame how it sways and it bends

Bobby the boy became a real fine man

Had a wife and a boy of his own

They knew the beat

Of Bobby's drums

Chorus:

It was the beat of Bobby's drums that set him free

And he plays on in that place in the sun

And we smile 'cause in our memory

We hear the beat of Bobby's drums

More than sinew and metal, those drums knew the soul of the man

The tempo in his heart went along with the sticks in his hands

He'd thrash and a he'd bang until his fingers would bleed

But his song, it will never be done

Tellin' the beat, of Bobby's drums

Chorus:

It was the beat of Bobby's drums that set him free

And he plays on in that place in the sun

And we smile 'cause in our memory

We hear the beat of Bobby's drums

Bridge:

Those burgundy Pearls might be covered in dust

But Bobby's song still lingers on

It's in the flow of feelin' and we can still hear him

Playin' his sweet siren song

Chorus:

It was the beat of Bobby's drums that set him free

And he plays on in that place in the sun

And we smile 'cause in our memory

We hear the beat of Bobby's drums

We hear the beat of Bobby's drums
