Mandy co-wrote "Open to Hope" with Scottish/Canadian writer David Leask. When they sat down for their co-write, David asked Mandy what she wanted to write about, and she replied, "I want to write a song about hope!" An hour later the song was complete. Every year, Ovarian Cancer Canada has a Walk of Hope to raise money for ovarian cancer. Mandy, being an ovarian cancer survivor wanted to write a song encompassing this theme of hope. With the help of the Saskatchewan Ovarian Cancer Survivors  group, Mandy was able to make a music video for the song, and incorporate interviews with several ovarian cancer survivors including her story in the video. The video will be released coinciding with the Ladyballs Ovarian cancer fundraiser gala in April 2017. Stay tuned to Mandy's Youtube channel for the video.

Lyrics:

I'm in trouble, white knuckles

Grip slippin', skin starting to burn

There's no tellin' whats comin

Or which way I'm gonna turn

Chorus:

But, I'm open to hope and I'll always keep climbing

Leave all the doubts and the bad days behind me

When fear's got me cornered and twisted in knots

I think something's true but its not

Down at the end of my rope,

I'm staying open to hope

Verse:

Time's wastin', heart's breakin'

I keep chasing these shadows away

But if I'm breathin', then I'm healing

Bringing light into my day

Chorus:

And I'm open to hope and I'll always keep climbing

Leave all the doubts and the bad days behind me

When fear's got me cornered and twisted in knots

I think something's true but its not

Down at the end of my rope,

I'm staying open to hope

Bridge:

I'll keep reachin' up

I'm not letting go

Of the promise of peace

That leads me to hope

Time's wastin', heart's breakin'

I keep chasin' these shadows away

Chorus:

I'm open to hope and I'll always keep climbing

Leave all the doubts and the bad days behind me

When fear's got me cornered and twisted in knots

I think something's true but its not

Down at the end of my rope,

I'm staying open to hope

I'm open to hope
