"Outsider" was written by Mandy Ringdal. The song was written from the perspective of a man who battles the demons of anger and guilt with the fuelling of alcohol. He feels he is a misunderstood outsider with a weakness for booze, but the woman he loves does not lose faith in him and eventually she will help him to be a better man. For the recording the song was switched to be from a woman's perspective.

Lyrics:

You say I'm not the same woman

And you just can't understand

Why I turn into someone else

Every time that liquor hits my lips

Chorus:

Oh, I'm a fighter, I'm an outsider

I only bring you down, don't bring you higher

But, baby you'll see, you'll bring the good out of me

A fighter, outsider's just the woman I'll be

And you'll love me

And you'll love me

I don't know why I do

Those crazy things to hurt you

I need forgiveness for the things that I've done

And I'll show you, how I know you're the one

Chorus:

But, I'm a fighter, I'm an outsider

I only bring you down, don't bring you higher

Oh, baby you'll see you'll bring the good out of me

A fighter, outsider's just the woman I'll be

And you'll love me

And you'll love me

Oh darlin, won't you save me now

Wanna love, need you to show me how

This love is strong and I know we'll make it

Just help me through and don't let me break it

Chorus:

'Cause I'm a fighter, I'm an outsider

Try not to bring you down, but bring you higher

Oh, baby you'll see you'll bring the good out of me

A fighter, outsider's just the woman I'll be

And you'll love me

And you'll love me

Yeah you'll love me

Love me
